Along with being the sensei of Bay Island Bonsai, Boon is also the Sensei of Sacramento bonsai club. Since the previous sensei, Mas Imazumi, passed away, Boon has been the demonstrator at their annual bonsai show every year on the first weekend of May. Here is an example of very simple bonsai material and its first styling. This is a Western juniper, and properly treated, it can become nicely ramified.
